Machine Doubling coins (£2 Dickens, 50p Ironside)

I've got this Dickens £2 and there is a problem on the portrait... there is a line all around the portrait, and a kind of shard on the eye :



What is the cause of this line?

I have the same error on my Ironside 50 p
