yeah, I see those on ebay all of the time, and they sell for 10-15 dollars, not 100.
Lord, do not make me a moron. Insulting me you insult yourself.

Regarding the coins is that the King of Poland, they are perfectly preserved.
That's why such a price. Price is absolutely objective. I offer an exchange or sale. If there is a real offer, please give a private message.
Well, I have 2of them, and O bought them for 10 dollars each. Would you like to buy them for 100 dollars each? Cause I don't mind.
I have not seen the safety of your coins. Here's why., Do not love to confess tales of Vienna woods.
Coins in collector's safety, and it is a rarity.
Trading is appropriate, but for $ 50 I do not selling.
I've got the 1662 coin in my swap list right now valued at $35. However it's a weak strike F.

Raric's coins are VF+ (my best guess, hammered coins are not my thing) so $100 isn't too far off. Here's the link to NGC-

http://www.ngccoin.com/price-guide/world/poland-6-groschen-km-91-1650-1667-cuid-110915-duid-286429

Yeah, you can buy worn examples for $8 but VF examples range from $70 upwards depending on variety. Note that there is no price quoted for EF examples. That means that in general you can not get much better than VF.

I've got all kinds of coins with a value of $50 - $100 but I'm well aware that there are worn examples available for a couple of dollars.  Condition folks, condition. C.O.N.D.I.T.I.O.N.
Non illegitimis carborundum est.  Excellent advice for all coins.

I propose swap this rare coins
Here is my 2 cents on this:

1. I completely agree with  pnightingale - "condition" is the name of the game and raric's valuation has sense. If you disagree or you believe you can find the same coin cheaper - simply ignore the offer and walk away. But don't try to give the man a hard time for nothing.

2. In my VERY private opinion, eitan190 who claims to be a "referee for Poland and Bohemia" should know the prices for Polish coins better, or at least bother to check NGC more often. Unfortunately, it is a quite common problem here at Numista when people self-proclaim themselves "referees" without having sufficient knowledge and/or experience. No offense though.

Well, my  coin it's XF to say at least, perfect for such an old coin. I even thought that it was a counterfeit, but it's silver and it has the right weight.

I wont tell how much I pay for it z|  :D (shame on me). Anyway, as owner of his coins Raric has the right to ask what he thinks it's fair. I was just curious, because I didn't knew that my coin was that expensive. I think I'm gonna value it as 120 EURO.

Perhaps I should say, thank you Raric!

Best regards, Tony

Dutchgalego,
OK, don't tell us HOW MUCH did you pay for this coin... Just PM me WHERE did you get it  and I won't tell anyone. I promise.  ;)   z|

Dutchgalego, I've always like Polish-Lithuanian coins but I never bought any. Could you please tell me as well where you bought it?

Thanks so much!!

i never said the catalog value was not high, i said the market value wasn't.  I got 2 XF examples for 10 dollars each. As you may know, catalog value may sometimes differ greatly from market value.
I agree with you though the "market value" is something very fluid depending on where you are. Just out of curiosity, I went to Polish eBay earlier today and was surprised to find out that all those medieval Polish coins are offered at the prices seriously higher than NGC's. And at the same time it seems that one can get them much cheaper in US or The Netherlands.
Or maybe it's just a matter of luck... I wish I was lucky, too... :(

I would love to see the pictures of these. I've never seen one in better than VF condition and I'm very interested to see an EF example.

Very nice bargain, maybe $600 worth of coins for only $20.

I notice that you don't include them in your collection, just 2 VG coins and one VF. If I were the referee for Poland and I owned two such beautiful coins you can be sure they would be the centerpiece of my collection.
Non illegitimis carborundum est.  Excellent advice for all coins.

I am currently in france until the end of august, so they will have to wait.
That's ok I don't mind ;)
Well I reckon I can safely close the swap which YOU initiated and which has been waiting for your attention since June.  It would have been nice to have shown the common courtesy of letting me know about an absence of several months?

As you are going to be away for such an extended period perhaps you might do other users the courtesy of changing your availability status on your swap page.

P.S.

We are going to be needing a new thread to apologise again to poor Raric whose topic seems to have been diverted into a quite interesting direction.

You have an excellent memory Mark, well done. I love looking at really good quality coins and was very much looking forward to seeing these.

I sometimes stalk Apuking in the hope that he will share more pictures of his collection which is by any standards magnificent. Yours is catching up quickly and I sometimes stalk you too. Makes you feel like a numismatic Justin Beiber eh?
Non illegitimis carborundum est.  Excellent advice for all coins.

Yeah, especially such old ones like these from less popular places really need to be shown off more. Apuking is so far ahead of me in the fact he doesn't seem to buy crap. It's something I've adopted over the last year and have even passed up on some scarce coins because they weren't the type of grade I want anymore. Something that I've really been trying to bring to the surface much faster in my Hanoverian collection.

of course when you collect such a broad amount though you can't be too fussy as some coins just don't exist in higher grades for mere peasants ha !
Broken camera maybe?

Sorry, I forgot about this post... Here is one I very recently bought, the condition is not as nice, but the toning definitely makes up for it.
