Cook Islands new series of coins - August 4

On August 4 the Cook Islands are going to issue a new series of circulating coins. The coins (10 cents-2 dollars) retain their old designs. A new denomination (5 dollars) is being introduced. The coin shows a traditional vaka. The coins are now available in the catalog here. So far this year, Gibraltar (dated 2014), South Sudan and Tonga have issued new series of coins. Later this year Vanuatu and Kenya also introduce new series of coins, all of these coins will have new designs.

The new circulating coins of South Sudan have now been added to the catalog.

Then their next series of coins will be issued on the 4th September, then the next of 4th October, next on 4th November, then 4th December, there will be 5 special Christmas series followed by 10 special New Years series at the beginning of January.

​ 53 coins of the Cook Islands have so far been issued this year. The new series of circulating coins (which I describe in my message above) is more interesting though, with a beautiful 5 dollars coin.
