The coin is Chinese. The symbol on the right hand side of the first picture is typical of Chinese coinage, The one on the left is the mint mark, if I'm not mistaken. Let me see what I can dig out.

It looks like it was minted at the Boo Guang Mint during Emperor Guangxu's reign (1875-1908). I don't know what denomination it is.

Krause catalog #190/ 191/ 204.
Probably one of those I-ching replicas that they use at restaurants you attract money to come in.
