Yesterday, when I looked at my collection, I had 299 countries, but today when viewing my collection using the new version, it has reduced to 297.
WHY?
I lost a country too. I'd sure like to know which one and why.
If I knew what changed, I could either learn something new about what I've collected, or try to make a counter-argument against the change. Right now, all I can do is sift through the forums and guess.
You can consider tokens removed from your country count.
However coinman's issue may be due to another issue. Maybe a country we're unable to locate in the new map?

I have lost a country as well! I've checked the token section, but there were no new coins. I still haven't figured out which country is missing, and if I am missing any coins.
This issue is quite strange. Maybe the only coin you had from a country moved to another you already had. Try to compare your listing with the map listing.
EDIT: wrong theory I made, as having countries unlisted on the map too.

Is there any way that the old system can be seen. I can then print off my collection then compare it to the new one.
I had hoped to become a member of the 300 club before Christmas and had just purchased two coins from a country new to me so would have achieved it.
But now, I have no chance.
If a country should have been moved to tokens, it should have been Lundy. Illegally produced coinage, so surprised to see it still listed amongst country list.

Old Lundy "coins" remain listed as Lundy even wearing an X# number. However if you have 2011 "coins" they're all listed under Tokens - Lundy.

Common French West-Africa & Togo coinage seem to have merged under West Africa. However Togo coinage without any reference of French West Africa remained as Togo as intended for Togo only.
However, it should be logical to do the same with common French Equatorial Africa - Cameroon coinage too.

That's it. Fortunately I had both: one common and one specific.

But I lost two countries and I did not lose Togo. I understand about tokens, but where is my other country gone.
I need my old system back even if for a day
Citeer: "007mat"I've lost Togo : this coin changed to French West Africa.
Well, that is probably because that coin is French West African.
The reason why Togo is mentioned specifically is because Togo joined the West African currency union 1957.
Do you have any old excel file to compare which coin may have moved?

French West Africa was a kind of colonial federation. But we may consider both created a currency union, like did Cameroon with French Equatorial Africa.

That is the problem. I am at a loss as to what to do next.
I am very disappointed that after trying very hard to join the 300 club, but that is now gone.
Found a spreadsheet dated 01/07/2015. At that time I had 293 countries, so I have checked through the July list against the up to date list and found the following countries were missing in July but are there now.
Austria-Hapsburg
Newfoundland
East Timor
Spitzbergen
Tatarstan
Vanuatu
That is 6 new countries, so my total should be 299
BTW the missing country should be from the remaining 293 countries

It gets stranger by the day.
Today I have 298 countries, without doing anything.
So, I assume if I do nothing for quite a while, I may end up with 400 countries???????

chomp-master
Here is a new scenario for you.
When I look at my profile, I have 12,617 coins from 299 countries. Just added two coins from British Indian Ocean Territories), but when I look at my coins through the 'Your coins' tab, I have 12,617 coins from 298 countries.
What is wrong with the Numista website?

It's said already a few times, in your profile "tokens" is count as a country. In "your coins" this is fixed and shows only the real countries.
