Thai Gold Pot Dueng and Fuang / Authentic?

8 berichten
I just bought these two coins, and I'm wondering if they are authentic. The weights and diameters are consistent with what I can find on the web (2.03 and 1.72 g, both 15.5mm). Anyone see anything to suggest they are fakes? Anyone want to weigh in with a grade?

Thanks,
Chris

they look like replica

Anyone else? They look right to me, the patterns are right, the strikes a little weak but typical for old Thai coins.
Might be real, Though i don't have enough knowledge on Thai coins to tell for sure.

You can compare with some specimen with weak strike like this one, http://www.acsearch.info/search.html?id=276326

I guess you should also compare weight/diameter with a genuine specimen, and if it's within 90% of accuracy range, send to NGC for grading. Really worth a fortune if real. Best of luck!!

If they turn out to be real, I would be interested in buying them if you wish to sell, I live within an hour drive of your stated location.

But to be honest, you would likely get more money by selling at auction than selling to me.

I think I will probably keep them, I don't have anything else so rare!
The gold content checked out (95% +), so I guess the only thing left is to send them to PCGS. Thanks all for your help.
Good luck Chris! I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you. Please don't forget to update us all with the results.
