Between 1948 and 1952 it was not the Transitional Kyat but the Burmese Rupee that was the currency of Burma (its name changed to Myanmar only in 1989). Furthermore, there is an error in the Numista catalog concerning this currency's subdivision. The Rupee was worth 16 Pe or 64 Pyas, not 20 Pe or 80 Pyas. It was basically the same system as the Indian Rupee.
There is no referee for Myanmar, and my requests have been pending for more than 2 weeks now. What could I do next? Shall I try the referee of neighbouring Thailand?
Citeer: "ngdawa"To me it sounds like you would fit perfectly for the job!!
Okay, let's give it a try then :-).
But I am a busy man and I have no knowledge of Burmese language and script. On the other hand, I do not expect many requests regarding this country in the first place.
