So as a collector of commemorative coins, I deal with a lot of double dated coins. I find often in the Numista catalog that such coins appear as unknown or ND in lieu of a date. For example, Luxembourg 20, 50 and 100 Francs "John the Blind" are listed as unknown. They were minted in 1946 so if you search for them by date they don't show up.
Now I understand that on the coin itself it may not list 1946 by itself but rather as a dual date including 1946. For the sake of being user friendly wouldn't it be helpful to fill in the minting date. Many of the Luxembourg coins are listed as unknown. I also think this is a subject that has been brought up before.
I don't know if makes more sense to have referees change it or to allow date modification requests like anyother info requests. Either way I think it may be helpful.
Citeer: "alamir"Hello,
use for the seach the Gregorian date and you will find the coins in the result.

Peter
Thats fine thanks. I've found ways around that glitch but my point was more that the date isn't unknown and shouldn't be listed as unknown. It should be listed as the year the coin was minted.
I totally agree. The date is known so there is no reason not to put the date into the corresponding field. It just leaves many people surprised, irritated or not finding the coin they are looking for in the database... even after finding out how to find them anyway (gregorian date field) I really disapprove this volitional bug.
I'm not orange and also in other things I'm not a Donald at all. DonChori like Don Felipe or Doña María, por favor.
