I am just entering some 17th - 18th century lead Farm and Hop Tokens on to the catalogue and wondered if anyone had any info about Farm and Hop Tokens in general

I have to go to the antique shops in Oxford!!!!

If you ever want to get rid of this token, let me know.
My village has always been growing hops:

If you do make sure it is on a Thursday and go to the antique market down by the Bus Station.

PS
What's the beer like that is produced from the hops grown in your village?
Roy, this is fascinating. I had no idea about these. Kent-where I grew up is where lots of Londoners holidayed to do hop picking in and around where I grew up. There are still lots of hop picking huts standing.

I bought some some little lots at auction once and some lead tokens with Ms on them were amongst them...I know now that, that is what they were...thanks.

The hopfields are long gone here (Assen near Brussels). Only in the region of Poperinge you can still find active fields. But yes, we have still nice beers : lambik (Origin = Lembeek) , gueuze, trappist.... All very tastfull!

There's no hops down here, they do grow them in Marlborough though. Did you know that hops are a relative of marijuana?

Due to our lack of hops I'll have to stick to brewing my fruit wines ``-
Indeed, hops and marijuana are from the same botanic cannabaceae family, as do hackberries.
They all have distinctive difference between the male and female plants.
Here in Belgium are only the female plants grown. I think in the UK both are used. Buth that is why our beers have a nice collar of foam and most low alcohol beers in the UK dont
Perhaps you can replace the hops with marijuana to brew beer?
