Is this a Russian coin? [opgelost]

Hello, friends,

I came upon a coin which I cannot identify. The only thing I can recognize is the two headed eagle (Russian Empire probably). Please help.

It looks more like an old button - in second image the hole is where the loop was. Maybe.

A bit like this shiny one ...

Listed as:
Russian Imperial Army Officer Uniform Button with Eagle
Manufacturer: "БР. ВУНДЕРЪ С.П.Б. ДВОЙНЫЯ"
Diameter: 22 mm
Period: 1857-1917

Some of the lettering on your second image looks the same.
It may not be exactly the same, but is close, I think.
I have seen people on here ask about coins, which turned out to be buttons, in the past.
Especially with a hole on the reverse with lettering around it. Welcome to the forum also. :)

EDIT: I used the lettering in that listing, and put it on your image, and they are the same ...

Doesn't look like it. Actually, that "crater" looks more like it has been pressed with some other hard object. And have you ever seen buttons with imprints on the inside :)?

It must be a coin or a medal....
I have just looked at the link.... you sent... You might be right....

I will look into this idea and post my findings, and, YES, there are buttons with imprints on the inside  :) My mistake :)

Oh yes, a lot of old buttons have the makers name inside.
If you google, you will find a lot of them.
look at the button in the right top corner:

Hello - did you see my amended reply since then - I added a picture with
the Russian lettering above !
I am 99% it was a button - cannot be a coin or token/medal as there is no country or
denomination/value lettering on it.

P.S. You also wrote 12 hours before that 'YES, there are buttons with imprints on the inside'
so now you write the opposite. But there are inside imprints on buttons, as Petrus also wrote. :)

Dear friends,

Sorry for the late reply. My message has been doubled because I have opened the post from my mobile phone, and when I reopened the link by going back, it has sent the message once more.

PetrusAscanus thank you for the quick reply. Now I am sure it is a button, especially after receiving your last links. Actually the buttons from the link are not exactly like my sample because mine has the С.П.Б. between the stars, but it is extremely close.

Thanks once again.

Alex
