If only they were better quality!

I would snap up this auction no hesitation. It's a great little selection of larger silver coins. But they're a bit too rough for my liking.

Jeepers that's steep.

We Canadians are getting hit with the "double whammy"; low Silver prices and low US vs. Cdn.

Funny how they mention the Newfoundland 50 Cent as a selling feature (?). I would love to have a couple of the others before that one.

I think it is thrilling how coins travel around the world to be found by lical collectors. I remember as a child in the 80s being able to buy all my early NZ silver at melt here in Oklahoma...I used to wonder how exotica like NZ ended up in Oklahoma of all places...

Us soldiers came over to train in New Zealand before going over to fight in World War 2. I'm pretty sure most of them would have brought back coins as mementos when they went. For a similar reason, there are a lot of 1930s and 1940s Egyptian coins circulating round New Zealand collectors. Because that is where a lot of the New Zealand troops were stationed during WWII and they all brought back coins as mementos.
Great stories..

Make an offer, but not a very high one, these are pretty worn
Taking a break from swapping for a while, but still interested in pre 1799 Spanish coins, I will make time for that!

Looking for pre 1783 coins
The problem is I've promised myself not to buy any coins under a VF grade unless it's very special circumstances (like if a VF coins are so rare that they're out of my price range but a nice F coin is affordable)

I was just thinking that if the coins were all VF or higher then I would pay the $89 for it, I love Panama and Ireland coins, I only have one Newfoundland coin and I'd like to build up my collection of them. the rigsbankdaler has a good cat value even in VG....but the hole is a real killer for me, and South Africa is always popular over here, so I could easily resell a VF Kruger florin.
