Median age of all coins: 2006
87% of the coins were minted in Denver. Not surprising.

Observations:
1) Almost all purchases I made were within $1 increments. The few that weren't were within 25 cent increments. I never saw any 1, 5 or 10 cent coins in use, nor had any opportunity to encounter them in commerce. I only found them as street litter.
2) As with South Korea, taxes are included in item prices. I almost always had exact change in banknotes and rarely needed change back.
3) At the register, most retailers had laminated cards showing the four common denominations of US coinage and their values. This exists as a teaching aid to explain US coins to the large number of Japanese and Korean tourists that visit Saipan. However, coinage seems to be of little use on the island, so I doubt this custom will exist for much longer.
4) Many of the coins I did obtain were in fair to poor condition.
