Varieties of 25 Öre 1964 KM# 836?

8 berichten
I might be wrong here, but I think that I have found some varieties of the 1964 coin.

I have made my own "labels" for them, as normal 4, thin 4 and bold 4. I have found no record of this, so it might be due to wares or other.

Anyhow, please let me know if you think this might be somehing or not. Sorry for the bad quality.

Normal 4

Thin 4
wider gap than the normal 4.

Thick 4
no gap at all

Other varieties?
smaller gap than normal 4?
unsure if this is a double 4 or not.

Please let me know what you think. And again, I'm sorry for the quality of the pictures. All I have is my cellphone's camera.
No ideas?
I do not own one, so I have nothing to compare this finds with. I deem them interesting anyway. :wiz: Nice find.

I see, no worries!
Well, the pictures are from my collection, and I tried to get as many varieties as possible to make it easier to compare.

Until now I haven't reallt paid too much attention towards varieties, and especially to to varieties which are "unknown". Therefore I'm just not quite sure if this is all due to wares and ther stuff, or if the 4 really is different.
Hi ngdawa,

the km# is 850 and not 851, but that's a minor thing.

You have made some good finds here, I'm nearly jealous, because I've been through I don't know how many of these coins WITHOUT having noticed any variations of the "4":x Now I'll have to find those bags again to go through the coins once more8~

I would say the original die only had 196 ingraved, and then each time a new die was needed the "4" was added in the copied die. As it can happen, different types of "4" were used, as your images show brilliantly. Can I use your images to set up one of my usual documentations or can you do it yourself?

Cheers mate!
Well, actually we're both wrong. It's KM# 836 I was talking about :P

Yeah, of course you can use my pics! I worked long and hard, so as long as I get a little credit it's all right! :D
Heja,

so it's Swedish in the end.... there I don't have many doubles to look at, so no wonder I never saw it (I thought stupidly, that it was Danish, because of the km# only 1 off)8)

Of course you'll have your avatar, your name and whatever you want in the documentation, I'll pm it to you before doing anything else with it, OK?
