Sorry for the rather off topic post - although there are a couple of banknote threads around and nobody seems to mind.
I've been considering the storage of my very tiny collection of banknotes. I don't intend to get serious but I want to keep a small collection of unusual notes and those that have sentimental value for me.
I own a couple of banknote pages, but they are extremely expensive and inflexible (I need to move the banknotes with my bare hands in order to make room). Are there any cheaper and more efficient storage methods for banknote collecting?
I've been looking into banknote sleeves, but at 21 cents each they are still no bargain!
My preferred method of storage is 7x5 Cellophane Sleeves Acid Free which cost about £2.99 for 200 and they are used for Greetings cards and such like here in the UK and have a sticky seal strip but I cut that off so they are just slip pocket sleeves then I store them in A5 Plastic Wallets that can hold 50 to 60 notes with sleeves each and a pack of those cost 5 for £1 from a local shop :-)
The 7x5 can be big for most notes but they are all uniformed when stored in the wallets and so far they are fantastic and I can handle each note and see both sides without ever needing to touch them unless replacing with better grades but even then I use Cotton Gloves which again cost me £1.20 something from a local Chemist called Boots :-D
Check out my You Tube Channel and you will see what I store them in now.

Yes the link is in my Signature of every post I make that takes you to my Channel
They're also available in black, but I happen to have the exact same ones on the picture. So far this is the cheapest album (and system) I have seen and they fit almost any type of banknote, except for those huge German and Russian banknotes from the beginning of the 20th century. For those I am obliged to use loose pages (sigh) that fit them. The pages have three slots/page and are about as big as an A4 piece of paper. Hope this helps you. In total you can fit 300(!) banknotes in one album.

Citeer: "Lotus07"I personally am not so fond of loose pages, so I use these types of albums made my Leuchtturm/Lighthouse:

Those are some of the BEST albums for banknotes, but a bit expensive. There are several ebay sellers who sell the albums and pages for a cheap cost, including shipping. In the UK, andy_jack sells them (http://www.ebay.com/usr/andy_jack) and in the US, mit_63 sells them (http://www.ebay.com/usr/mit_63). I have bought from both of them and they are great.
I can't get good sleeves in Australia. Feels like anything to do with collectables is expensive. So i just store them in individual pockets, stored vertically in a box.
