Citeer: "glykan"Look at the second coin, left picture. Well worn image and absolutely pristine rim? Definitely fake.
That jumped out for me as well. Good to remember that on most coins (the US Standing Liberty quarter is one exception that comes to mind), the rim is initially the highest point and ought to wear before anything else does.
Unfortunately there are coming out plenty of this type of fake crown size coins, and what I see they are coming from Russia, and also selling on Ebay for 15$.... I'll see if I can find the seller and post here so you can compare.
They even created a "mule" with a Cuban coin :) This seller has a lot of other gems as well, and if you look at the sold items you can find more "gems" including Morgans, Peace and trade dollars. And the description is in Russian, how about those that don't read Russian?
Citeer: "kommodore"They are chinese fakes that can't even pass the magnetic test.
Well, the guy that sells them on eBay,the link I posted above, I managed to Google translate his description from Russian, and he states coins are perfect in size, weight and non magnetic alloy...And I don't know where they mint them but all they who sell those fakes are from Russia, also many fake Russian coins are available as well.
