Hello all Numista members,

I am officially attending University of California, Irvine! It has been my dream school and I am very excited to further my education. I promise all of you that I will continue to work on Numista projects during class.

Congrats, Kenny!

No need to apologize or make promises to the Numista community - your only duty is to focus on the most important: there's your study and judging from your profile image there's a future life companion as well. Never forget that those two come before coin collecting!

Good luck! What are you going to study, if I may ask?
Political science. The study is fueled by my love for coins collecting and history. Was initially aiming for Business admin. or economics but turns out I don't like calculus. Or computer sciences.

The damsel in the picture and I have been together for over a year and a half, my past year has been very stable both in my studies and in my personal life.

Congrats Kenny, I used to visit Irvine a lot when my brother lived in Santa Ana. he went to Concordia and then in CSU Long Beach.

Enjoy and I will patiently wait for your approved changes!

I'm not an expert in any kind of coins, but I reckon I'm good at research and will do my best to help. Feel free to tell me my identifications/valuations/gradings are wrong. It's the only way I'll learn.
Congrats Kenny! And all the best for your future!

Congratulations !
Congratulations, Kenny! Good luck with your studies.
Great news Kenny! And that university is a pretty good one too as far as I know. But I do want to give you the advice that you will have to work hard, be smart and force some luck to make a decent living out of political science. I know a few graduates of that direction and only by being a top 10% student and/or having splendid connections in (international) politics you can have decent ambitions or otherwise you will need to be realistic on the opportunities. Following your heart increases the chance of making it to the top 10%, but still you will need to work hard and be smart.

I am in the lucky position of being good with numbers and computers and ended up in finance. I love history as well and use it often when analysing investment decisions.
Very very Good luck, my son,
Apologies for patronizing, but I remember reviewing and coaching on your motivational letters and stuff, so I feel like a bit more attached than the avarege.;)

Do it, Go for it, Do what you need to do, and make a change! ... We all - I guess - are proud of you.
You are the MOST contributing member, anyone who had that chance of looking into of the major contributor list by xavier before; who shamefully deleted it from the site, will remember.
Even people who do not know you will remember, ... anyways:

Go On, Be good, and Come Back as an - even more - educated political/numismatic expert who can shape the order in here ...

Allahu Sallimak/God Bless you ...

Awesome! I'll be going to university too, when are you starting?

One final note, the most serious of all advice: enjoy the student life!!!

I spent quite some years at uni (it's cheap to study here, we just pay very high taxes to maintain it) and I loved every moment of it. Waking up at 4 pm to watch the final part of a Wimbledon match on telly with hung over flatmates while trying to reconstruct the evening and where it went wrong with the conversation with the girl you were trying to court.
Kenny (smartone) good luck , You have been here working hard the whole time I been a member. Even help me with my pic, thank you. School is first , knowledge is the only thing people can not take away from you. And have fun , that to is a learning experience. Fun and hurts make us into humans. You take care my friend And peace be with you
yours daryl
It is, what it is, or is it.
Thank you for all your advice and heartwarming comments. UCI will definitely be more difficult, and as jokinen has commented, I will aim for accounting/finance. Very glad I didn't go to CSU and that I've made the steps, still have a long way to go. I am taking summer classes but I will still work on the website here and there, obviously not as much in my prime years.
