I have to confess that I really like these coins. I know they are everything we are supposed to hate but I just can't help it as they merge two lifelong passions of mine. The series as a whole is clearly the work of someone who understands Tolkein's world and numismatics. If the pages ever came to life then I would imagine the coins being used would look very much like these.

While their value can't be considered numismatic I still can't dismiss them with the same righteous contempt I have for pyramid shaped scratch and sniff glow in the dark Liberian dollars.
Non illegitimis carborundum est.  Excellent advice for all coins.
Make Numismatics Great Again!
Now that I've looked at the picture, I actually kind of like it. Not sure it belongs in the NGC Price Guide, but...

I thought at first we were talking about the silly New Zealand LotR coins:

Tend to agree. There's no imperative for circulation or whatever in order for you to like something, and want to collect it. I quite like them too.

They are nicely designed silver rounds for me, and silver rounds are collectible!

I definitely agree, these look like really nice series. Occasionally, there's a fan base that produces quality fan items, much like the Battlestar Galactica cubits i've seen before. These LotR coins are much nicer, wonder where i could find some...

No doubt, i really like pretty much all the designs within my collecting period (1925-1975), probably more than the British designs of the time. It goes without saying, of course, that Paget/Grey designs are always nice
