Hello,
currently it is possible to see a map of countries that you have in your collection. I think it were interesting to have a chart where you could see how many coins you have from different years. Like this:

(Sorry if someone has already suggested this, I didn't manage to find such a suggestion in this forum.)

I like this idea!
That's a great idea! I wanted to do that with data from the excel export, but the dates exported are not all based on the gregorian calendar.
Hello,
A chart of the years in your collection is now visible in your collection dashboard :)

Indeed, very nice feature. I like statistics very much.
You have on the French forum the charts of emissions by decade of the emissions taken from the catalog from 1920 to 2019
  • all
  • Standard circulation coin
  • Circulating commemorative coin
  • Non-circulating coin
at july 14

Merci beaucoup, that's very interesting!

Yes, nice, but it brings up a query I have had for ages ...

so for example I have, on the new chart, 43 coins from 1794 - probably as I
have a lot of UK Conder tokens. Yet, putting 1794 in Advanced search and marking
the page as 'collection - in' there are 51 results. Why does it add 8 coins that I
do not have 1794 from - such as, for example, that second image shows as the
first result a coin that is from 1757-1798 and I have 1797 only.
That new chart I would like clickable to see what the 43 coins are - so that one click
does it all - rather having seen that quantity to then separately have to go to the search
page (and get a different result) to see what those coins are. :)
Token collector [1600-1899] with some coins
I am with ZacUK and i would like to add that a graphick like the ones we have for grades or compositions but for Ages (Ancient, Middle age, Modern Age, etc) would be a nice feature addition (in my opinion)

Hello,

The chart of years is now clickable, so you can click on a bar in the chart and see the coins you have from that year.
Note that this is not available for the old collection display.

I have no way to classify coins by period (antiquity, middle ages, etc.) as of today. We just introduced the classification of issuers by period but this is not reflected at coin level. For example, if you have a coin from Thailand, I can't tell whether it is from the Middle Ages, from the early modern period or from the modern period.
Thanks - I went to Profile and clicked on
Display of my collection
Complete display, with support for more collection details and values (recommended)

as suggested, as just before it did not work.

BUT - the quantity is still wrong ...

43 = The new graph
51 = Advanced search
47 = Click on graph

So I have lost 4 coins that were not needed, but still 4 others that should not be there.
Unless the new graph is looking somewhere wrongly.
Token collector [1600-1899] with some coins
Sorry the graph ignored when you own the same coin multiple times. This is fixed.

47 = The new graph
47 = Click on graph
51 = Advanced search

The advanced search shows a different number because the query is actually slightly different.
"My coins" search among your collection, and shows the number of coins from that year in your collection
The "advanced search" shows the coin types in the catalogue which match your 2 criteria: the type was issued in that year and you own a coin from that type. It doesn't mean that the coin you own is necessarily from that year, but from a type which was also issued in that year.
Thank you. :)

Token collector [1600-1899] with some coins
Here's a little suggestion to add to this. Currently we have this, that shows us how much of our collection is of each type (standard circulation, commemorative, non-circulating and token), which happens to be colour coded.

What I think we should do is colour code the year chart like this little mock-up I made. I've also added a little drop-down box to view the year graph of just one type of coin.

I only had so much time to make this, so I couldn't colour all the bars. But, you get the idea.

Now, this isn't really necessary to have, but it would be nice.

Just a question, how are listed coins and tokens without year value added?
LP
For non dated coins and tokens, if the year range is known, it shows up as the first year of the year range. If the year range is unknown, it is not represented on the graph.
I like doubbnleggberts suggestion
