I'm very curious about two (2) specific fractional Reals; the 1/2 Real and the 1/4 Real struck during the Lima Mint's control under assayer Diego de la Torre. The coin below was acquired as a 1/2 cob, but has the a weight of approx 0.7g which is more consistent with a 1/4 Real. .
(1) Were each denomination struck with different 'diameters' and 'weights'? If so, what were they?
(2) Was the 1/2 Real commonly 'clipped' to become interchangeable, value-wise, with the 1/4 Real? If so, how does one tell?
(3) Did the Mint, under Diego de la Torre, ever officially stamp the denominations on either of these fractional Reals?
