I have a 1942 British India One Rupee George VI King Emperor

There are 3 George VI one rupee coins listed
KM555 - 90% silver - rare - stopped in 1939
KM556 - 50% silver with small rim edge denticles on obverse (I think that's what they are called!)
KM 557 - 50% larger rim edge denticles
The third one has a 1942 date. If your coin is the second one then the date line can be added with a change request

To me that looks like the KM 557 - Bombay mint - with a dot. The date list has a 1942 but there is a note on there that says "without dot" so I guess another date line for 1942 (with dot) has to be requested

Just added the date. Typically you can do it yourself by going to the bottom of the page and clicking on "Modify or add info about..."  it will take you to a change request. One of the moderators (I am not one) will go over your request, verify and act on it.
In this particular case, the date field was open for modification, so it was easy to add the date you needed.
