1915 Medallion

Inherited from my great Aunt, I have a medallion that I've done a little searching for and found a little information on it but would welcome more information if there is any. I've had it around 30 years but just had it put up and really had no idea what it was. I'm new to this forum but looking forward to going through my old coin collection too. I have precious little sit down at the computer time but excited to have a place to learn more about my collection. I've always stuck back the older coins and still....in this day and age, still come across older coins in my change.

Anyway, the medallion is from the San Francisco Exhibition, the medallion has the two nude figures on one side with DIVINE DISIVNCT IVNXIT HOMO and the other side is Panama-Pacific International Exposition San-Francisco. MCMXV... It says Medal of Award....but medal of award for what? I'm anxious to know more about the history on this medallion.

I did find that it came in plain bronze as well as silver and gold plated bronze. Is this a pure bronze? I cannot find a mark that says.
A Picture would be helpful, when you post a reply on top of the textbox you can click on "Insert an image".

If my latin is correct, DIVINE DISIVNCT IVNXIT HOMO translation would be : DIVIDED BY GOD CONNECTED BY MAN
Panama-Pacific International Exposition San-Francisco : according to wikipedia the exhibition was to celebrate the opening of the Panama-canal
Hope this helps.
