Help with catalog reference for 1794 Cronebane halfpenny token (Irish Conder token) [opgelost]

5 berichten
Is there anybody with a copy of "The provincial token-coinage of the 18th century" by Richard Dalton, Samuel H. Hamer (Bristol), who could look up the correct catalog reference number for me?

I found this Irish "Conder token" in a bulk bin. There are two Numista pages that refer to "Cronebane", but neither is the correct date.

Diameter: ~29 mm
Thickness: 1.6 mm
Weight: 8.68 g

Looks like bronze to me.

Obverse lettering: CRONEBANE HALFPENNY
Reverse lettering: ASSOCIATED IRISH MINERS ARMS 1794
Edge lettering: PAYABLE AT DUBLIN CORK OR BELFAST

I can create the Numista page for the token, but I need to know the correct DH catalog number, and any varieties that should appear as lines on that page.

Thanks!!
Aha, the D&H catalog is apparently available online at http://provincialtokencoinage.weebly.com/

This looks promising...
I don't know whether you have yet found it but I can only find one listing for the 1794 and that is DH#52
Just because you can't see it ... doesn't mean it isn't there - Anon.

Yes, I did find that. I added the page for this token to Numista, pending approval.

These tokens are pretty interesting. I don't go out of my way to collect them (and I don't collect things like sales tax or bus tokens at all), but they have an interesting history and they did circulate as actual money at the time.
