I prefer to trade on basis of actual market value, maybe Krause-Mishler World Coins Catalog and NGC, european standard currency maybe on face value, silver for silver coins, old for old, high value for high value - we should first make bargain.
As Arno said this confusion is common. The reason for this is that the silver is still worth much more than the copper. Copper is around $6 per kg or $0.20/oz and silver close to 100 times as much. People like to know melt values, even if for this coin that is quite irrelevant. Nice historic piece!
