OK I don't know how crazy hard this would be but here is the idea. Right now our world map doesn't care if we have a German coin from the 1920 during the Weimar Republic or 1999 during the present Federal Republic of Germany government. You get credit for having a coin from German. But if you could enter in a year, say 1985, the world map would update to what it was in 1985, in this case there would be an East and West Germany. Any of your Weimar Republic coins would not show up since that government didn't exist during 1985. This would be very useful for collectors of ancients (although I would suggest having the map zoom up a bit for that) or if someone just want to collect a coin from every country that was around then they were born. You would of course still be able to set the year to "all years" like it is now, of course.
What say you?
Citeer: "January First-of-May"It would be extremely crazy hard, for multiple reasons.
As long as we ignore that inconvenient part, however, it's a really good idea, so I upvoted it anyway.
Sure, it would take some time, but it's not crazy hard. I don't know what numista uses, but with ammap you'd just need to create an area for each "dead" countries and display them only if they existed during the selected year. And selecting coins that were circulating in a specific year is easy if, like is the case for numista, the info is in the database.
