Turkish medal trial strike?

Hello,

Can anyone give me information about this medal? It`s probably a teststrike but I have no idea
for what occasion and if or when it was ever released. It is single sided and 4 cm in diameter.

So that no-one does the work twice, here is a photo of the monument.

So, yes, a Turkish medal or trial piece, since it is Mustafa Kemal Atatürk on horseback, originally a bronze statue in Ankara, Turkey.

I know it is Ata depicted and therefore of Turkish (Republic) origin.
But I can`t find any further info on this medal. Not on the internet and not in
my Turkish (Dogan) catalogue.
I`d very much like to know when it was minted, for which commemmorative event, is it a trialstrike and
was it ever released?

I suspected it was Ata by the looks of him and found the statue almost immediately in Google Images. But I didn't find anything else after that, especially because there's no legend. At 4 cm it's some sort of a medal or presentation piece ─ or a trial strike as you suggested.

Perhaps if we knew more about the statue we would find out why it was struck? It is obviously meant to reproduce the statue in Ankara.

Interestingly, the statue ─a victory monument─ is shown on the back of the 1939-52 2½ lira bill. This is taken from the Turkish Vikipedia page for that monument. There's also an English page, but much shorter.
