How much is a holed coin worth? Mmmhh ... Not easy to answer. I don't know of any guidelines and I suppose there are many factors that need to be taken into consideration.
In my book, if a coin is holed neatly and at a place that doesn't affect the design too much, then I would normally be willing to pay at most half of the price for the same coin in the same grade without a hole. My profile pic is of a Brock token which I got for about CDN $25. Without the hole, I would be willing to pay about $70-80 for the same.
Now here is a token with an ugly hole, apparently made with a nail (which were square at the time):
In this case, the hole is part of the story since the countermark DEVINS & BOLTON was punched
after the hole had been made. Without the countermark, that token, common as it is, would be worth $2-3 at most and would not interest me at all.
Coins that are reasonably common and holed clumsily in the center or on features such as a head or a crown are probably not worth much more than bullion value.
