I was looking at the coat of arms and see only mainz .From the legend I uderstood that "fra" is Frankfurt. The whole my search was with the keywords "mainz" and" frankfurt" and it didnt gave me no results. Thank you very much for your knowlege!
You're welcome. It wasn't so much knowledge as dumb luck. I identified the wheel as the symbol of Mainz but the full arms didn't immediately add up and the legend made no sense to me either. All I could see of the first word was EINTZ, so I searched those letters on a searchable copy of the Krause 17th century catalog. Bingo!

Now I have to go search the internet and learn all about this monetary union. Was it something like an early version of the Euro? That is a really neat coin!
