Surely he didn't type all that? I'm guessing that referees have their areas added automatically, is that right? Yeah, for the sake of the poor feller's sanity, shorten it to German States.
Non illegitimis carborundum est. Excellent advice for all coins.
Make Numismatics Great Again!
Shortening to just German states would do the trick, but what to do if Apuking had some and somebody else would have some too. Who would you refer to with Bavaria coin if you saw just German states at both?
Citeer: "Houseofham"Maybe he'll change that list to a select2 droplist, too.
That (dropdown style) is already the solution proposed and is already on the agenda of next admin meeting.

If a dropdown list does not work, a way to make it slightly less confusing (though not much smaller) may be to change the commas in the country names to dashes. Right now, I am reading a lot of countries called "Duchy of," "City of," "County of," and so on. Using semi-colons to separate the countries would make the list grammatically correct, but I think adding dashes would be simpler—just like how "France - Kingdom" or "China - Empire" are named. That way, there would be more consistency (with the countries that already use dashes), no need for semi-colons, and much less of the word "of."

Yes and no as currently we're going with use of commas with country list :p
For now, dashes and commas are not meant to be used in the same way/meaning. For instance "China - Empire" (long period with imperial dynasties) is different from "China, Empire of" (name of the country for a short period early 20th century.
But as the country list is currently being worked on/modified in several ways, all these "details" are work in progress.
This is not only about dashes/semi-colons/commas but having dropdown would be more friendly (my sole opinion) than having a block of text be it with dashes or semi-colons or commas.

Citeer: "Frenchlover"And still a long list to Würzburg
A very long list since for the moment the list is only till the letter H.
But not only that. Nobody will know what the function of Apuking is within the Numista Team. It's not because he's a referee (that's a separate list under the Numista Team), but because he's the Numisdoc Admininstrator. Now you still might see this because for the moment it's the last line on the list, but when the German States are finally finished, that line is somewhere in the middle of all those German States and NOBODY will notice it.
