Change in swap list

5 berichten
Hi dear collectors and Numista team. I'm rather new here but I'd like to make an offer.
Is it possible to add an additional mark (or check box or similar) to separate coins in member's swap list in UNC or BU conditions from those of from circulation.
It will make swapping much easier.
Thank you.
Hi tolnomur! First of all, it would be more appropriate to post this under Numista Website section and mark it as a "Suggestion to improve Numista".

In the past 2-3 years, I've proposed at least a couple of similar, more detailed suggestions with regards to making grades (of my coins) visible/accounted for while looking at someone's swap list but they got no traction... so far... 0:)

In general, I'm looking for a way to make swap usable for updating coins in my collection with coins of the same type but better (potentially) grades.

I hope moderators can shift this topic to a proper place... I'm sorry

As for collection part, I'm not sure somebody interests grading of MY coins, for swapping enough to know if I have such coin in collection. For me it is more time consuming to select 20-30 coins from 2000 in swap list and to be informed that all of this coins are in VF or F condition. Even separation circulated and non-circulated coins in swap list makes swap easier. If member doesn't care about coins condition he/she can select coins from circulated part, but if you are looking for quality you can check only swapper with such offers.
Welcome Tolnomur, Grading is such a difficult thing to assign to coins. To many different opinions. If pictures are sent, it eliminates a lot of arguments, and puts the grading in the hands of the swapper. If a member tells me the grade of the coin, I usually ask for pics anyway.
Hope you enjoy the site.

Surely, grading is rather disputable. That is why I don't offer to place in swap list exact grade, but swapper always knows if his/her coin is from circulation or not. It is enough for me in most case. I don't accept modern coins from circulation even if they are "in a very good condition".
