I guess it's my turn to start this thread, because already got something in December.
Yesterday I went to a coin fair in São Paulo (with my grandfather, who used to collect times ago), and got a little of everything: new notes, old notes, new coins, silver coins and old coins (haven't brought much money).
Here's the coins:
-one UK silver florin,
-one Panama silver coin (1/4 balboa),
-one Greek silver coin (20 drachmes),
-one Egyptian hexagonal coin (2 qirsh king Farouk),
-one Central Africa coin (25 francs),
-one small Indonesian coin (25 rupees),
-one Jornanian coin (50 fils),
-one Swedish coin (5 ore),
-one Mongolian coin (50 togrog),
-one 1700's Dutch coin (1 duit; later I found that's not exactly Dutch but from the Dutch Indies, the dealer wrote wrongly),
-one old cash from China (later I found here on forum that it's a tourist token)
-and 2 Ancient Rome coins that I don't know the ID (check the identification forum). One later identified as a Constantius II nummus. These are my new oldest coins, more than 1000 years older than my previous oldest coin (a russian Alexei I kopeck).
Day 2:
-2 cents south africa 1992
-2 new pence UK
-25 euro Austria 2017; I ordered it from ebay, muenzen von historia hamburg today. So, time to wait.
Day 1:
-Some small euro coins worth under 5€, circulated. Im literally keeping everything.
-Yesterday (1.) I also found the Tampere payphone testing token. It was in my cupboard.
Im going to add here everything I get for every day.
Found a nicely worn 1846 half crown at a local coin shop. It's probably been cleaned at some point but to me it looks like natural wear. Bonus: when I looked under the magnifying glass I see a die crack from Victoria's nose through the T in Victoria
Got me my first Love Token, I find these quite fascinating.
It will not be added to Numista as its more of an art piece made by an individual.
For those who never heard of such pieces.
A love token is a silver coin or token that was flattened and then details and drawing where hammered into a design which often depicts a ship. These where usually created for when the man had to leave on a longer voyage at sea and given to his spouse or girlfriend as a sign of remembrance and love.

Nice find. Yours is 2 sided and very detailed. A lot harder to find and commanding more $$. I find them fascinating and I have collected a few over the years. These really represent the times in which they were created, and have very personal stories. Which is sadly left up to the imagination . Do you know where and when it came? Date? Here are couple of mine. !st one is a 1883 Liberty Nickel. Initials are most Common here.
Yes fascinating pieces, I like your too
I would guess its british but its hard to be sure.
It came from a long time british collector and from the design should be from the later 18th century.

2016 Abkhazia's 1 Apsar. Even though a coin is a non-circulative (country itself isn't recognized either), it is a legal tender in the region. 2000 minted and mainly distributed among collectors only.
It has been quite some time since I have upgraded my favourite collection but, this Canadian Cent is a beauty.
These are the sellers pictures and it is nice to know I am not the only one struggling with photography. This coin looks much, much better in hand. Many of those visible scratches are on the mylar of the flip.
Typically, I wouldn't have spent so much but the die cracks really peaked my interest....
More to follow for December, I hope.

Here is another one struck with the same cracked die:
'Neujahrs Jeton aus Nachlass'
'Gewicht 4,8g etwa 24mm. Echtheit Garantiert.'
I bought it from a seller in Germany. It is an Austrian 'good luck' token for a 'happy New Year',
so made for 01-01-1948 date, making it 70 years old in a few days. https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces85390.html
It is like the token on that page, but mine has a date on reverse.
I brought 7 coins from 1770s-1917, I'"ll soon see what they are. My strategy when buying cheap coins is "Buy first, then find information". It is interesting to read the story of the coin, with the coin listening right next to you (I know, coins probably dont have ears). and well, atleast I wont make large losses.
Here they come!
-1 schilling Mecklenbourg 1771
-1 cent nova scotia 1861
-1/4 anna british india 1835
-10 lepta greece 1912
-1 penny Australia 1917
-1 corona austria-hungary 1913
-1 leva bulgaria 1913 and 5 leva 1894.

ha, Look, I didn;t mean rare in that sense. I meant that it had a low mintage of ?43,000,000? or something like that. These coins are no longer in circulation in this country, they are gradually dying away. Only collectors here have them and in museums, those who have them do not make it of use and give them to others, collectors who are from this country who want to swap these may not have knowledge of these coins.
I've been working on trying to get one of every type of US coin (at least non-gold that is), a LOT of money needed to get there still, but so far most everything back to the seated liberty designs. So between Christmas presents and buying stuff myself, I've added an 1828 1/2 cent, 1865 2 cent, 1858 silver (it's TINY) and 1874 nickel 3 cents, 1857 half dime, 1840 and 1877cc dimes, 1875s 20 cent, 1876 quarter, 1853o half dollar, 1872 dollar (pretty poor condition and holed, but all I could afford). Also got a 500 Tenge Kazakhstan coin with the silver/tantalum bi-metal (2012 Baikonur version), and a couple 1991 transit tokens that I had to add to this website's catalog
Set of Albanian coins under Victor Emanuel III (1939-40 R), 2, 1, 0.50 Lek
