How reliable is Colnect's catalog? [opgelost]

Sometimes I go over there just to see if they have any coins included in their catalog that I don't for the countries I referee for here on Numista; usually it's the opposite, as (at least speaking for my refereed countries) I'll usually have added tons more Essais than they could ever hope to have. ;) I do however sometimes find one or two coins for modern African nations that i missed out on.

But the question is is their catalog reliable in it's info? Because find some coins on their Niger database that I haven't been able to find proof of their existence anywhere else.
Unfortunately a lot of coins are minted now as private issue or fantasy coinage especially with African countries coin's authority. As for me, it is not considered to be a real coin but somebody try to collect everything and add it to open catalogs like Colnect. It is your decision to collect such issues or not. As far as I know moderators from Colnect check all additions and require basic confirmation for new additions. But number of such "coins" is too huge. I think if somebody try to make a full catalog of coins of Ghana, Cameroon or Cook islands, the book will have same size as Krause or Shoen. In last few years Moscow mint only issued about thousand coins of Ghana.
