Unusual 20 pence piece

Hi I'm trying to find out if this is a common thing.
I have not seen it before, its like little globules of metal left on the surface of the coin.
Can anyone shed any light on this.
Thanks.
propably PMD.
Or possible a fake (they exist)

Welcome to the site. :)
It is called a cud. Happens a lot on UK 5p and 20p coins especially (sometimes others).

In the last 20 years or so it appears quite often - here are some on eBay ...

Cud or Die Chip??
A die chip and a cud are both caused by the same thing - a piece missing from the die - and both have the same end result - a lump of raised metal on the coin. The difference lies in the size of that lump. Die chips are very small, cuds are bigger than chips. How much bigger ? Well, therein lies the subjectivity. And there is no definitive delineation. Yet others believe to be a cud it has to be on the edge.
Those who believe they can do something and those who believe they can't are both right.

Thank you guys.
Very interesting, I'll probably keep it then.
