North Korean Coinage

Does anyone have leads on North Korean coins for sale? I currently have a 2002 1/2 Chon but am interested in acquiring more. eBay does not allow for the sale of North Korean products that were actually made in the country, which includes coins. However, I have seen a pair slip through the system once about a year ago. My search is only casual, but another piece or two would make a fine addition to my collection. Thanks!
Go to taobao, the Chinese site and type 朝鮮硬幣. You'll see varieties!
Thank you for the information! What's the reliability of the site and payment? I see that Taobao is a major eBay equivalent but I wouldn't want to run into issues with online purchasing and security. (I only ask because of a bad transaction I once had with a misleading coin dealer registered in China via eBay.)

The sets of DPRK coins they do have are all extremely affordable!
I got lucky on eBay by searching for Korean coins. Sometimes there will be North Korea listed.
I've seen that too. Actually purchased two English-language North Korean books from the 1960's that somehow snuck through the cracks.

On ebay you can find the north korean small commemoratives only searching "Korea 1/2 chon"
Other words like "Korea chon" will give you for example

A full north korean set?
You can send the link and I will help you determine if it is reliable.

By the way, is your profile picture about Polandball?

This is one of them. For 2 RMB (0.2 Pounds) for one 1 Won coin. I bought it, and I can guarantee a XF!

Although you must also ask him to use China Post (中國郵政) since if you use SF express or TNT or anything else it will be incredibly costly... even to Hong Kong it was 20 times the price of coin.

...China post. Why because now I also got to understand the Chinese suers of the postal service "sue" cost from people because of the advantage of "free trading system".

In Spain is not illegal to sell them, so our local ebay clone has a lot of them, I've bought my collection mostly from there. Most of the sellers are reliable, my experience with Vaso-unicum and Numismática A. Ferreira is spotless.

Indeed it is. Though it's not very original and just the first 100x100 pixel Polandball I could find.

Thank you for that! I'll have to poke around the site.
It's not just ebay, your payment processor will suspend your account (and the seller's) if there is any reference to NK on the invoice. PayPal have taken a very harsh and unquestioning stance on this, although I'd guess it has more to do with them getting their rapacious hands on your cash rather than supporting US sanctions.

The same applies to all things Cuban, including coins.

You might get lucky and avoid the notice of ebay by using carefully chosen wording but something as naively innocent as a notation along the lines of "Payment for North Korean / Cuban coins" will be picked up on and will lead to the confiscation of your balance. Even worse, you might find yourself flagged and forever subject to the scrutiny of our alphabet soup of oppressive agencies.

While I reckon it's all pretty dumb and there ought to be a common sense distinction between numismatic treasures and missile technology, we have to play the hand we are dealt. There's no coin worth losing your paypal balance and your expectation of privacy over. If you just positively have to get one, then why not just swap for it instead of buying one? There are hundreds of Numista members with Cuban and to a lesser extent NK coins to trade.
Non illegitimis carborundum est.  Excellent advice for all coins.
Make Numismatics Great Again!
That's good information to hold onto. Luckily I have a coin from each and as they don't really fall under my specific collection focus, I'm not dying to get my hands on any at the moment, more of a long term goal.
Taobao and then cash via transferwise. If your order exceeds 100 bucks they should write you an fake receipt.

I can help use my Octopus card to help you buy it.

If you would like to, we can share about r/polandball, sometimes I go there. Helps with geopolitics.
I'll have to let you know! Polandball is the ultimate geopolitics meme.
