I came across an 1897 Republica Mexicana Un Centavo with a reeded edge. It has a Mexico City mint mark. The diameter and weight are accurate but I'm pretty sure its a fake. My question is WHY would someone bother Counter-fitting such an inexpensive coin?
Any thoughts?
