I have multiple Portuguese 1 Euro coins minted in 2016 that have a lot thinner and somewhat modified design than earlier years. Is this a known design change? Do other denominations have the same changes?
I do not like the design of the first one, 2010.
I know that there are false Euro coins minted in China.
A few years ago the European authorities find out they used to acquire rejected disks from the mint houses and used them to produce false Euro coins.
Would this one be one of them?
In the Portuguese forums where the theme is discussed I have never read about any design change.
