Hello,

Do someone know a good software for mac to manage the coin collection ?

Also, I'm looking at developing my own ... Anybody would be interested ?

Hi,

I've heard Numista does quite a good job ... even on Macs :`

Have a great 2018!
Just call me Bram

No new swaps for the moment, still too many half-ongoing swaps to clean up!

Very customizable ....

Do not argue with ignorant people .. !! They will drag you down to their level, then pulverize you with experience ...
I use Opennumismat in Windows, I believe there is also a Mac version. Open source, free and very customizable.

It is an interesting solution, but personally the Numista catalogue works just fine for me.
Thanks guy for the feedback.
I use Numista too, but it's a web site. I'm looking for an app, if possible for Desktop and mobile.

I don;t know Lignup, i'm gonna test it, thanks ;)

I use OpenNumismat too, i like, it's the best i find so far. But it's lacking a bit in data i believe.
Especially to track historical prices.

OpenNumismat has an unsupported version - NumismatTracker:

And I would be interested to see its development
If anyone's interested in developing app like this using C++, count me in.

I have tons of time at work between missile tests and I'm trying to get IT to install C compilers on my computers right now for some other code I've written. So I won't take charge of this project, but I have free time to tinker if someone wants to give me specs for some modules to code. Plus, my boss if he stops by my cubicle, as long as he sees code up on one of my 4 screens, instead of me taking a nap or watching youtube, will think I'm doing good work, he's not seeing what the code actually is...

Also good with Ada, Java, Matlab, Python, MS Access or Excel with VBA, etc...

Realistically though, this website a few months ago was my first modern attempt at listing and organizing my collection, I took a break through my college years and a few years after, just picked it up again. Late 90's I had a little checklist booklet for US coins, once ever week or two we'd drive to the city for groceries and stuff, and there was a small coin store I always begged to stop by and mom would spend maybe $1-3 on an old coin for me about once a month, so the checklist was useful for not getting duplicates. Before that, around '93, one of my first coding projects was a list of my coin collection that I could sort by category, programmed in Applesoft basic on the Apple 2e I got when my family upgraded to newer computer and gave me the old Apple in my bedroom for whatever I wanted to do. It wasn't sophisticated piece of software, I was hard coding in every single coin. But I was 7 years old, so what kind of sophistication do you expect.
