Pretty unusual topic but it has come to my attention that Soini
(this guy is Soini and he is NOT the weird one yet)
has done something weird: he has promised the culture minister to this guy...

(who IS the extremely weird guy)
So, this guy lives with a minimum budget, and is an "art genius" and has dedicated his life to doing art but...He is WEIRD

remove the _ for the link
DONT TOUCH THE LINK UNLESS YOU ARE READY TO SEE SOMETHING...VERY WEIRD...YOU ARE WARNED. I am not responsible for anything caused by this video. Blame that artist/politician

I hardly advice you NOT to look at his "art" (this piece of "art" is a video of him feeling the pleasure of going to the outdoor toilet) and he has also many, many other videos with content that has made me laugh and cry. But I am not sure would I call this art?

who does your country have? Anybody weirder than this tykylevits?
I suspect that this thread is going to be fun to watch! ;)

M. Jean-Marie Le Pen of the FN (Front National), is infamous in France and French/European politics as 'that guy you really don't want to sit with'. In 2002 when he advanced to the second round of the elections against Chirac, everyone gave Chirac a landslide victory in the face of right wing extremism. As for his daughter Marine, I am afraid I cannot yet comment as of 2018 lest I risk consternation from the differently-opinionated. B.

Crossing the Channel, there is the Brexit crowd, but I will refrain from saying any more about them for the same reason as above.

I am not American, but crossing the Atlantic, there is an honourable mention for the Mango Mussolini; however I will post no public comment on him and his 'administration' either. :°

DISCLAIMER: Weird is subjective, so I beg of you, please do not take offence to my personal opinions, which I have done my utmost to water down in this public forum.

I have heard of him! America has very many weird politicians, for example the ex mayor of Talkeetna, alaska. She was a cat. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stubbs_(cat)
She "ruled" talkeetna for 20 years until her death. Probably she made no decisions, but the cat was the mayor.
And somehow somebody did not like the cats political opinions, and during her time in office she was shot once, attacked by a dog, accidentally got on a garbage truck and even fell into a deep fryer.
I bet america has many many much weirder and MUCH more worse politicians (trump and friends, and many more)

We in Finland also have:
-Teuvo Hakkarainen, a drunk politician, racist, and he even yelled the "Allahu is great" (allahu akbar) in Helsinki, and this was both a childish thing to do and disrespectful for muslims.

-Paavo väyrynen, ancient politician who wants to bring the markka back and wants to be the president of Finland, but never succeeds. He has tried since 1980's.

-James Hirvisaari, the completely mad man who wants a new holocaust.

-Kekkonen, the "good dictator" who was the president of Finland for over 25 years, a very appreciated politician. He kept himself pretty secret. He was a good man but long after his death we have discovered weirder things about him:

-He feared WW3 and so he kept close relationships with other nations leaders, and "saunotti" went with sauna to them. After the saunottaminen, the other politician was always ready to agree with Kekkonen. Sauna was the trick he used many times to dictators, USSR politicians and also other politicians. And it worked.
-He had very close relationships with almost all dictators and all leaders in the 70s and 80s. He recieved christmas cards from many like kim il sung, hoxha, franco and idi amin.
-He basically chose anybody he wanted to be a known, powerful politician.
we even have a "politician christmas party" where the politicians go, and drink themselves drunk, later somebody harasses somebody and its all over the news. Over half of our politicians have broken the law, harassed somebody or atleast drank her/himself drunk in a party.
At least your people are loyal to the nation... we have some weird ones like:

- Yau Wai Ching and Sixtus Baggio, which mispronounced the PRC as (SORRY FOR PROFANITY) People's Re-f**king of Jee-na (a derogatory term by Japanese during WW2) and said Hong Kong Nation (while it is actually Hong Kong Special Administrative Region)

- Lau Siu-lai, which said something I could finish in 45 seconds using 12.75 minutes to protest the thr HKSAR government.

They all included HONG KONG IS NOT CHINA in their speeches.

They were all stripped of their status as member in the Legislative Council. (refer to OATH TAKING SAGA OF HONG KONG)

Talkeetna has never had a human “mayor” so I’m not sure the cat qualifies as a ruler or politician. It’s an unincorporated population center in (somewhat) rural Alaska. Just another clever idea by the local population to draw tourist dollars.

but atleast honorary position, but the story says that they did not in fact want a mayor, but it is angering me that the cat was used to boost the sales of the local shop where the cat lived. And they did not even care for it well that explains all the adventures they had. I would'nt vote a cat that lives in a shop in the next talkeetna elections! Thinking it like this, not in the "Oh, what a cute cat politician!" way makes it seem less interesting that a cat was the mayo of Talkeetna.
Lady and Gents,

I took a great pleasure reading your posts and viewing your videos ;-)

Nevertheless, I fear that Numista is not the appropriate place to exchange on political issues. I deeply regret it as well, but it is meant to share about numismatics, isn't it ?

Enjoy your day ;-)

Surely the moderator knows that this section is Free discussion and does not have to be about numismatics. And while political viewpoints are banned by the guidelines, this conversation's about weird people who have somehow made it into politics and I don't see anything wrong with it.

As for New Zealand, we don't have too many weird politicians, but our former prime minister who was voted out last year is a really good example of why middle aged politicians should not try to be cool with the younger generation by posting everything on social media

What? Me Worry
I am surprised none of the other Americans who commented on this thread mentioned Vermin Supreme (Libertarian). Has tried for the Republican nomination, Democratic nomination, Libertarian nomination, and as trying to run as an Independent.

Hi Neilithicman,

One point to you; A free discussion is basically .... free, you're right.

But this issue is a very sensible one and one's might feel offended and consequently answer in a bitter matter. And it then goes wrong.

But I remember a belgian minister (Michel Darden) having a wonderfull speech at the Senate in 2010.....

It is with great pomp and circumstance that I announce the newest mayor of Talkeetna, Alaska. I give you Denali the cat:

I say with some cynicism that if cats had taken the higher path of evolution rather than us apes they might have done a better job than us...

Then again, looking at human beings and all thee evil we've unleashed on the world and it's other creatures during our stewardship, probably not.
