Now the serifs that everyone keeps talking about, that is the notches on the corners rite or am I wrong? If this one ain't a real ddr then I need some serious help lol. Plz you guys I have two questions. 1) are the serifs the notches on the corners? And 2) is this a double die?

Hi, Coinguy,

ser·if
[ˈserəf]
NOUN
a slight projection finishing off a stroke of a letter in certain typefaces.

So serifs are at the ends of letters, not the notches. They are the pointy bits. If a letter is completely square or round at the ends, then there are no serifs.

Someone more expert than I needs to explain double dies.

When dies are very well used they are recut to make the edges sharp again. That gives the effect you see on your coin.

Here is a good site about the manufacturing of dies and errors;http://www.doubleddie.com/58201.html
