Hi is it possible to add a dropdown for countries that have issued circulated coins-- to remove the the US colonies BS coins like Marshall islands Palau Nthn Marianna etc and others like Nauru and Tokelae Niue etc
I only collect countries that have /or had circulating coins - no fantasy, unc tokens, or tourist dollars, Euro coins produced for collectors only, Franklin mint etc
Surely we can drop these out at collector's discretion in the drop down in "my coins " section as I am sure that like several others I do not collect this rubbish.
I think you should start your own site with things only you are interested in to collect, then. There are 79,893 members on this site. We can't form the site after your likings. You're not alone here, you know.
I think muzz was trying to say (admittedly in kind of a ham-fisted way) that he doesn't want to view those coins when scrolling through the Numista catalogue; in which case he can simply de-select 'non-circulating coins' from the search options while viewing the catalogue.

Yeah, obviously. I get fired up when people call things they don't collect themselves for "bllsht", "crap" etc. I'm just imagining a youngster who just started collecting coins, finding this site and reads that he's collecting "wrong" coins - when there are no right or wrong.
I just get so shocked when collectors are looking down on people who doesn't collect exactly what they like and collect, and therefore thinks their collection is "better" than others.

I definitely agree; it's one thing to have your opinion on what constitutes a coin, and what you want in your collection; but it's another thing to lambast other collectors who do collect modern, colourised, sound emitting, unorthodox-shape coins. And I'm saying this as someone who personally prefers classic coinage.

Agree 100%!
I can enjoy the colourful modern coins to a certain degree, and I do own a few, but I can't say I collect them. Then we have tje hardcore guitar coins from Somalia etc. i would never add to my collection, but if you like - of course you should add them to your collection and enjoy them! I will praise your new addition to your collection.
I collect mainly silver and gold. I took a look at muzz0000's collection. If I were as rude as him, I would say that 80% of his collection is just a cheap crap not worth collecting (you can buy kilos of those trash). Does this sound right? No, it isn't! We should respect everyone's right to collect whatever he/she wants, whether it's Palau or a kilo of circulated pfennigs. I don't like modern coinage as well but still it gives me no right to criticize people for their preferences. Just move on, live your life. Normally I just uncheck the 'Non circulating coin' option and the life goes on.
Citeer: "druzhynets"Brace yourself, this one will be painful.

I have to mention this but some of the countries that are US territories, aren't JUST US territories, they're also countries themselves. Palau, Marshall Islands...
Also just because you think the are bullsht doesn't mean anything.

Well said,
The site should be capable of catering to everyone's favourite coins as everyone has their own tastes.
