MPCC 2018 - ASIA

The first round of MPCC 2018 Asia will start tomorrow at 12.00 CET. Australia/Oceania semi-finals too, of course.

There are 24 contestants in Asian section, therefore in the first round there will be 12 pairs. 12 winners will progress to the next round together with 4 lucky losers (with the biggest number of votes).

Why are losers advancing?

To keep the numbers even for the next round I think :)
Coins are 1v1. If they were 4 against each other, then yes, I see why. But not 1v1

If no losers go through then next round has 6 pairs (12), then 3 pairs (6), and then we're stuck!
What about:

The first step, 24 coins. 12 people advance.
The second step, 12 coins. 6 people advance.
The third step, 6 coins. 3 people advance, plus the loser coin with the most votes, yielding 4.
The fourth step, 4 coins, 2 people advance.
Then, the finals.

I believe this would promote the one that the people think is the best even at the last stage, hence my selection.

Thanks!

Better to have a lucky looser after the first round compared to have a lucky looser in the semi finals.
