I do a lot of my coin purchasing on eBay, where many of the sellers require payment through PayPal. This has worked fine for several years for me. In the past 2 weeks I have been unable to put through any transactions on PayPal though I have not tried on eBay during this time, just a few times on Grubhub food delivery and once on Avasta Antivirus software in Prague. Transactions look like they are going through but no final approval screen appears on my computer.
I complained to customer service of PayPal and was told their Internal Security Model determined possible fraud in my transactions and they could do nothing about it, no override of the system was possible. Only solution was to wait and try again (not a very good solution when time is important) or find a different method of payment. I ended up just paying by credit card but I would rather use PayPal with payments direct from my bank account. And if I should try to use it on eBay and it does not work I can see a big problem with sellers not being able to get paid.
A search of "PayPal internal security model" shows this to be a widespread problem for many. Hard to believe PayPal says it can do nothing.
