Austrian coin question

Here are two Austrian coins of the same date and denomination, but why are they so different?
Any ideas?

Austria 1870 Silver 10 Kreuzer KM#2206

This coin is very small and thin, and is only .400 silver. Therefore the coin on the left could have been gone through some serious travails to make it toned that colour. The blackening in the fields is pretty common on lower purity silver too.

Here's a close up view of the obverse details. Notice how the area around the eyes is not very detailed.
Could it be a cameo or counterfeit piece?

Possibly counterfeit, or a contemporary counterfeit, but I think it's real. The darkening around the eye obscures details to say the least.
The left coin is original, but it had a difficult life. The first reply was correct.
I collect coins and tokens which circulated in Africa from 18th century to 2000. I sell about 7000 illustrated world coins from http://www.avscoins.com.
