A weird 10 centimes from isle de bourbon

This one is tricky. The coin shop collector-seller whom I bought this from (Who has owned the shop for 30 years) first said he had had this for over 20 years, and he did not know what it is. He is an real professional with MUCH more experience than me, so he first thought about the weight.

I, a member of the younger generation took my phone and found a picture of it and showed it to him. He got even more puzzled. How has the upper part remained in such a good condition? There is no text or even traces of text on the other parts where there should be. It almost looks like it has never had text.

Well, then he thought it has been somehow modified, but then he decided to put it on the scale. 2.2995g, was it.

He gave it to me for 30€, 5€ discount and a Transnistrian coin for free. I would hope someone of you Numista people could tell me about this "mystery coin".

As you can see, NOTHING. Blank. Blank, but smooth.

Almost looks like some weird pattern strike. What are you? A magician reborn as a coin? A coin used in removing your fingerprint?
I think Your seller is just an Old Grey Fox..X-D
Coin always was in circulation, but everything remind about French Monarchy was accurately removed by anti-monarchy system in later period ( or maybe by Britains...but not sure)

The seller is trustworthy. In his late 60s, he is the most experienced in town. A few years back he sold a mannerheim cross. Also, he is one of the people who own the most coins in Finland.
I think, coin is too far from E. 25. And I think , he knew perfectly what he sold.
Maybe Im too sceptyc, but this is ( Im sorry) already not a coin for coin with age 2 century.

I guess when I get old, I'll sell it as pattern if it is not rare.

And he did not know what he was selling. I bought a coin, usually worth ~40€, he sold it to me for 4€, and also had the wrong country. The fact that he checks everything from BOOKS is funny. I know the guy. Ive bought half of my collection from him- Trust me, in Finland if a collector sells fake coins his business is dead within 2 and a half weeks.

What is it? Now someone find me info about the pattern version of that coin. It is something, the wear on the coin...
@Monnien The coin's probably circulated very heavily over it's lifespan; given the billon (low purity silver) composition of the metal, natural wear on both sides is not uncommon. It's also possible that it could have been the deliberate work of anti-monarchist forces like Dato says, but why would they wear out the denomination? There are many other worn coins in the same style from French Guyana I have that maintain reasonable amounts of the monogram.

The reason why the upper part of the coin is so intact is because it is incused; therefore wear would have to occur around the lettering as opposed to on it, as with the details on the rest of the coin.

Great coin, by the way! An acceptable specimen has eluded me so far :(

Rijkdom bestaat niet uit het hebben van veel bezittingen, maar in het hebben van weinig behoeften

no no no.. I don' t say its fake. Just overpriced for me.
ok if you like it then ok my friend
I can always get over 50€ if I wait and use the right terms, but seriously, the "make the deal mosquito" bit me and I bought this instead of 2 other candidates (Almost Unc thule kap york 25 and 5pcs of Helsinki lokalpost stamps) but it looks special. Still...the last question. Why is there a crown like shape? hmh this coin fooled my brain. Next week, the stamps then.
