Silver coins were among the first coins ever used, thousands of years ago. The silver standard was used for centuries in many places of the world. And the use of silver for coins, instead of other materials, has many reasons.

That or the answers are deliberately really obscure, which I suspect is more the case :(
OK Everybody! :8D
Guess what!!! :8D:8D:8D
We have a winner (or two) :wiz:

The correct animal for this contest is a RABBIT!!!

MonaSeaclaid - guessed correctly
and
johnspa - guessed correctly (the winner of Contest # 1) :8D

Other correct or acceptable answers would have been hare and bunny

:8D SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO........................................

The Easter Bunny, who was helping monitor this contest closely has stated that both winners will receive free coins for guessing correctly!

However we must have a tie breaker!

This contest is now between: MonaSeaclaid and johnspa

Whoever guesses closest will be declared the winner of Contest # 3!!!

The tie breaker consists of 3 important questions that you both must try and answer the best that you can!
Please type your responses here in this thread for all to see!!!

Question 1: How many hops does it take for an Easter Bunny to travel to everyone's house in the United States?
Question 2: How fast does the Easter Bunny have to be hoping in order to get to everyone's house in Canada?
Question 3: The Easter Bunny has a passport...What country might the Easter Bunny hop to next?

Wow, my lucky day. Love these contests. Question 1) Well, according to the American Housing Survey there is 125 million houses in the U.S. And seeing as the Easter Bunny uses magic to get from house to house,(As does Santa Claus), that is my guess, 125 Million hops. 1 for each house.

Question 2) Speed of light. After all, thats alot of real estate to cover in 1 night.

Question 3) Easter Island, Chile. Ive heard he stops there to take a break between stops.

Thanks for the contests, something to look forward on the Forum.
John
Wow no way!

These are tough questions...hmm...

1) How many hops does it take the Easter Bunny to travel to everyone's house in the USA? I think it takes ONE hop. After that it's all skips and jumps.

2) How fast does the Easter Bunny have to be hopping to get to everyone's house in Canada? The Easter Bunny moves at a rate of 1418/hps (hops per second), and gets that speed easily when making for a new country.

3) The Easter Bunny has just finished the US and then Canada, well the next closest country is France, by way of St. Pierre et Miquelon, so I'm pretty sure that's the next stop. The Easter Bunny is very efficient, and enjoys the ferry I'm sure.

Thank you so much for the contest! It was fun!

Edit: johnspa I love your answers! Easter Island! Aha!
:wiz:

After consulting with the Easter Bunny for two straight days, we generating maps, created grids, compiled data and amassing large amounts of information provided by johnspa and MonaSeaclaid, it has been determined that the Rabbit could not make a formal, sound and just decision and has there by formally declared the two participants co-winners of contest number 2!!!

8. The reasoning…

Upon further analysis, the hare’s paws typed on the computer speedily and relentlessly, day and night and could not come up with a solution to determine a singular winner for the contest. Consequently, kicking the computer through the back door of the house into a pile of snow, hopping outside and proceeding to eat some newly grown grass along the side of the house instead…

Creating quite a scene, the other animals in the forest behind the house, gathered around, including several deer, racoons, possums, skunks, mice, multiple species of birds, cats, a random medium sized dog and a bear that woke up too early and seemed drunk at the time, sat there looking at the rabbit with a confused look on all of their faces…and then everyone just walked or flew back to wherever they just came from… :8D

Subsequently speaking to the Bunny Rabbit, we verbally attempted to dichotomize johnspa and MonaSeaclaid’s answers...(A very daunting task indeed).

This however is the Bunnies, prescribed response…
We shall do a side, by side…
by side…
examination…

Question 1 was:
How many hops does it take the Easter Bunny to travel to everyone's house in the USA?

johnspa Answer:
125 Million hops

MonaSeaclaid Answer:
ONE

The Easter Bunnies Answer:

Based on a hop count conducted in 2013 (the last time that this was done) This improbable long number was in fact the correct answer. Now seeing that johnspa answered 125 million and MonaSeaclaid answered one, the carrot went to johnspa for having the closer answer…However…johnspa had indicated approximately one hop for each house, but this was incorrect, as the pointed out by MonaSeaclaid stating that skips and jumps were also involved…Although not necessarily part of the originating question…it was a trick, therefore by authoring a carrot to MonaSeaclaid as well…

Question 2:
How fast does the Easter Bunny have to be hopping to get to everyone's house in Canada?

johnspa Answer:
Speed of light. After all, thats alot of real estate to cover in 1 night.

MonaSeaclaid Answer:
The Easter Bunny moves at a rate of 1418/hps (hops per second), and gets that speed easily when making for a new country.

The Easter Bunnies Answer:
Because the rabbit was at this time traveling in Canada, we will convert from MPH to KPH. Although 1 billion, 80 million KPH a well-rounded answer, this was incorrect. Also, this Easter Bunny prefers to traveling by pogo stick during the morning hours, starting around sunrise and not at night…As an added notation, 1418hps was an excellent answer too, however still incorrect…The correct answer is unknown due to the fact that when this question was asked, the Easter Bunny elected to hire a heard of Gerenuk’s from East Africa to assist him this go around and not tell anybody…(also because they have long ears like the Easter Bunny too…) Subsequently, no carrots could be award to either contestant at that time. (Because the Gerenuk’s and the Rabbit and the other Woodland creatures decided to eat the rest of the carrots moreover…)

Question 3:
The Easter Bunny has a passport...What country might the Easter Bunny hop to next?

johnspa Answer:
Easter Island, Chile. Ive heard he stops there to take a break between stops.

MonaSeaclaid Answer:
France, by way of St. Pierre et Miquelon, so I'm pretty sure that's the next stop.
The Easter Bunny is very efficient, and enjoys the ferry I'm sure.

The Easter Bunnies Answer:
johnspa, yes, it is true that the Easter Bunny enjoys traveling to Easter Island, Chile, nevertheless, this was not in fact his next stop. (it would be his 149th stop by the way) and MonaSeaclaid of course, the Easter Bunny ultimately makes his way to France by speed boat traveling eastbound from St. Pierre et Miquelon, however instead of being logical and stopping in France…He hurries his way right through the Strait of Gibraltar into the Mediterranean Sea(claid) – In fact he travels so fast that his moment actually propels him through a hidden Egyptian Desert upwards towards a pyramid in which launches him over the sands and into the Red Sea. After splashing down and dodging (;0 pirates (;0 ironically looking for carrots into the Gulf of Aden, he sharply turns his ocean skipping vessel down towards the coast of Tanzania to meet up with yet more Gerenuk’s…

So the correct answer is: Tanzania…

Thanks for playing! :8D
