Royal Mint vs US mint [opgelost]

6 berichten
Which is better in your opinion, the Royal or US mint?
Judge on these terms...
1. Circulation coins?
2. Coins you class as antique/old e.g. Morgan dollars etc.?
3. Bullion-junk silver?
4. Errors?
5. Which do you have the most coins from?
6. Where are you closest to?
7. Commemoratives?

Write the number and the mint beside it eg.
1. US
2. RCM
3. US etc.

The winner will go up against the Perth Mint

1. Royal Mint - Gotta love those £1 and £2 coins, and the 50p aswell. All the "new" coins form a shield pattern when combined.
2. Royal Mint - Sorry Morgans, but Crowns, Sovereigns and others just look nicer.
3. US Mint - UK No longer gets junk-silver anymore, that ended in the 70's.
4. Royal Mint - While VDB cents are cool, can't beat a 20p without the date.
5. Royal Mint - It's my pocket change!
6. Royal Mint
7. Royal Mint - Commemoratives are very common, usually found on 50p and £2 coins in circulation, or can be ordered made of silver or gold.

4. US Mint
5. Royal Mint
6. Geographically, Royal Mint; actual experience, also Royal Mint.
7. Royal Mint
1. US (mainly because I find coins with a monarch's portrait repetitive, and the recent UK Shield design works well when you have a set, but IMO when they're broken up it just looks like the coin had a bad off strike.
2. US (shame that popular demand drives prices for older American coins up through the roof)
3. RM (Pretty much the same IMO just that I find the Silver Britannia coins more striking than Silver Eagles)
4. US (Pretty much the same, jus that I've seen more US Errors)
5. RM (but US is 2nd in my collection)
6. RM (US is an ocean away; did you mean physically?)
7. US (Definitely love the US classic commemoratives more than circulating 50p commems)
