Numista has just implemented a brand new interface to coin additions.
Do you like the new features?

Please kindly respond in the comment section starting with your stance, yes or no.

I'd like to see a general opinion!

PROS
- New features introduced to further improve the quality of the description of your coins
- Implementing values can tell how much your coins are worth

CONS
- Too complicated with poor layout
- Trouble adding many coins at a time
The new features I love but not as aesthetically pleasing or fast.

Generally a like from me, although I'll also have to get used to it all
I obviously liked the new features and why not? They are quite interarctive and you can enter coins with comments other description with everything else altogether, yes one thing, the design in collection is confusing for me, especially the '1x' sign. I used it to note previously the no. of coins actually I have with 1 generally written the collection or grades, anyways, what I have to do is now to make these remarks improve using with me.
Overall its probably worth it

No.
The new layout is not an improvement. I think it makes it harder to get an overview of my collection, and when I try to add a coin to my collection I get the following error message "ajax error". Maybe some of the new additions are great but only if it works. I'm using a Mac computer and I get the message both when using Firefox and Safari browser.
I guess when you do an asynchronous HTTP request and fail to do so, it makes an ajax error.

I do not know if I'm right.
Absolutely NO

Too complicated to enter them one by one.
I never cared about values being added so that part doesn't matter to me personally.

Apart from this being a significant downgrade aesthetically, it seems that everything about adding or just trying to look to see if I have something is now a more time-consuming endeavor. Is there not a way to add values without destroying the far superior format we had?

Logout, clear your browser cache and login. This should solve your problem.

Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.
I don't exactly care for the individual comments for each coin, I simply used to put individual comments preceded by a grade to remember which coin they applied to. I was imagining more of a double line system, one on top of the other. One, the old cataloguing line, and below it a value line for each grade. I don't hate the new aesthetic and I've got to give it to Xavier who's done an incredible job, and I definitely prefer this to the old version, but a few things still need to be ironed out!

I collect anything: If it's Italian or Italian states i collect it even more!
For me the old version was, quick and easy to use. This new version is bit complicated.
I think there should be a button that allows us to use which ever version we are comfortable with. I don't think the value function will be helpful as a local coin in India will never have a same value in UK or US vice versa. The value of a coin depends on many factors.
coin collector.....
I have no emotions either way about the addition of values to Numista, although I admit that adding values to my collection is fun... I got carried away and long story short, that's how I spent an afternoon trying to remember how much approximately I bought most of my coins for.
I find it somehow too complicated too.
Not that most of us won't get used within a week anyway, but the previous layout was way more simple and easy to use :)
I have a pile of 20 euro cent coins, quite complicated to add them one by one.
I don't like it X-D.
Collection management became very complicated. The only plus is a private and official commentary.
I am waiting for the return of the old version.
no!
it complicates affairs and has some failures like we cannot see comments on other collectors' coins on the swap page and comments on double coins are seen on the collection coin also.
I think it will benefit those who have a smaller collection of higher value coins, but it's likely to be a pain in the arse for those that collect lots of low value coins, and those that collect my year and mint mark.
What? Me Worry
The only problem I can see, except from the inconvenience of adding coins in general, is that if I have 2 of the same coin in the same grade, but with different buying price, let's say $5 and $8, what am I supposed to do? Put $6,5? B.
@neil As someone whose collection is a bit of both worlds, I can say that it was fun remembering how much I paid for some of my better coins, but I will probably not be willing to recall more exact values for many of my lower grade common coins (I've been putting €2,00 for most cheaper coins).
I do like the new layout and design although I do miss some of the old features such as having only one line for each year. But I overall like it.
I like new features. I felt the need for them for long time.
Still there is a room for minor improvements. And if I were a collector-by-year, tabular view and tabular editing (for large batches of single type coins) would be appreciated.
Why people complain so much? If you don't like to see the prices, just ignore them. Suggestions do not hurt!

Iam still not sure about the new features. It is new and not used to it yet. And have not much time to play with it. But the values are not going to mean anything. Coin values are a local market driven , not the average of all the world. And should stay a local issue. I think it just going to be a mess. Like this Belgium 1 fr 1912 I just got. A great deal from a silver seller and buyer. I got it for 3 US dollars. Should I inter it that way?

And what is value? It is metal and what people will pay for it. Me I go to the swap page and see how many people have it for swap to see how "rare" it is. Values we make will be just like the rerates index. Useless
It is, what it is, or is it.

Well, It says "Buying value", so I see it as the value I bought it for, so that's what I do.
Well it is close to catalog value. But putting a value is not going to mean anything really. If it was the last one of the series and needed it. I would pay 10 for it. Just to complete the series. So values are only what someone will pay for it. To me it more important to know silver value

Basically, enter only the prices that you consider fair. Entering them is not mandatory.

oh For me I keep a lot for value out of my coin collecting. It not a job , it is fun. Yes I know you have some ideal , would not trade a 1964 US 50 cent for a German 10 Pf coin. I also don't put a lot silver in , just don't think I should put out in the web. And yes some of my swaps are in the other person side. Because I want the coins they have more then my coins value.
edit What if I want a coin and just start to add lower values in. And pull down the value. So I can get it at a lower value. Or the other way around drive up the price. It sounds like it can become a Hunt brothers mess

Group of humans and what one in the group thinks is fair for him, and they all we be happy. And you will have the ones just for fun do odd values. Can I come and live in your world?
Humans don't have a great record in what is fair for everyone

edit to many hands in the kitchen, makes for really bad soup.

I really don't like it. I am not worried about values, because numerous previous forum post have proven value is subjective.
But now they've added a new 'swap category' that wiped out the condition of the coin to be swapped. Plus, I am not sure if I am supposed to count the coin as a collection coin or a swap coin. For example, if I have two 1963 Denmark two kroner coins, but want to swap one, do I put 2 in my collection spot and 1 in my swap spot, or 1 in each spot. I don't want to mis-represent to other collectors and potential swap partners my collection or swap offerings and their values.
In the long run, this might be a case of getting used to the new changes and growing to love them, but they are inconvenient in the short run, especially since I am going to have to go through my swap list and add the condition to each one. Thankfully I have a short swap list. I can't imagine what those members with large swap lists will do.
You now have option to revert back in account settings.

I'm probably not going to be using too many of the new features, but I think the new layout is pretty decent. Honestly, it's the same numista for me, with or without the new layout.
i cannot differentiate between coins which i want for keeps and the coins for swap , if both are of the same year.
