I was buying flips at my local coin shop and saw a bag of Canadian Cents (last year 2012) on sale for $15. Being a Cent collector and seeing that they were from other collectors (no loose coins) I felt I may get 1 or 2 upgrades.
Of the 558 Cents, I upgraded 6 coins from the 1930's and 40's (VF to EF). Not bad at all considering they had been picked over pretty well on the key dates.
In 2006, the Mint was playing around with all sorts of combinations and there are 6 different varieties of which 2 are quite rare.
The surprise was the coin shop missed one. Picked up an AU 2006 Magnetic (No Logo and No P). My 2015 Charlton Catalogue lists only 222 certified (MS-64 or better).
Well worth the $10 total outlay.
