Iam again thinking of removing all my coins . And starting over again. Not something to think lightly about. Having over 10,000 coins in my collection. But I have learned so much from the last time and change a lot in how i collect. And the bigger question , what format. The old format or new format? The old format I know very well. But new format would let me add more information to my collection , types, varieties, and errors. And can add that information to my swap coins. Do you coin collectors have any thoughts.

I'm in a similar situation whilst uploading my entire collection,
I shall probably stick with the new format until most pricings are on and choose then.
Its up to your own preference for which format and its easily changeable at any time.
Also take into account the time you have for this.
Good luck!

I very much preferred the older format, as the new one is continually throwing up problems which need sorting.
It has added coins to my collection and swap list, which I do not own, and continues to add my swap coins to my collection, which is obviously wrong. I also get the same information on a coin in my collection as I originally only added on to the swap coin. (i.e. for exchange for a silver coin only)
As for adding prices-forget it. I obtained coins many years ago and now have no idea what soever of the prices I paid. Having nearly 15,000 items, I do not have the time or inclination to even start this pricing process.
I am sticking with the new system and trying to resolve all of these discrepancies, but it is a bit tiresome.
I wish you the very best of luck if you are going to start again as it will take you months.
My advice would be if you have a really big collection use the old format with fast input (when you have all the grades and types etc already on a list). When you have put in all your coins switch to the new format and add the information to the coins you want more info on.
Or you have a few years time and want every coin with special comments then use the new one from the start ... personally I think this option is better done in an excel list. You can modify it to your needs and don't have to worry for possible changes in the future.
