Sad news. Pinned
Only the lowest kind of humans can do such atrocities, these are treasures of immense historical importance.

I sure hope the items will be found intact and the thiefs will be brought to prison where they belong.

Often, the sad truth is that they get melted for profit. I certainly hope this would not happen.

Indeed, it's what we think here... they only took various golden artefacts (they didn't seem to have "a sponsor") and they can't sell them like that in France.

The Anne of Brittany's reliquary is a high symbol in my region : it has a major significance in our history and we are still very attached to this queen here.

I only saw this artefact once during the European Heritage Days, two years ago : it was the masterpiece of the museum... its value in gold is way ridiculous comparing to its real value !

I'm still hoping they didn't melt them and will try to sell them abroad instead.

Chances are it'll either be melted or go to some private middle eastern collection never to be seen again for centuries anyway. Unless they are stupid enough to try and sell some of the coins on the open market and get caught...

Especially poignant for me as I'm currently bidding on one of the medals they stole [in silver mind, not gold] and it was already super rare before the theft.
It has been found! :wiz:
