1 Qirsh - Abd al-Azīz Hejaz and Nejd - 1926 [opgelost]

Dear Numista Experts,

I yesterday I bought big coin lot with different coins. In this lot I found this one:



I check it and I understand that this is old Saudi Arabia coin:
1 Qirsh - Abd al-Azīz Hejaz and Nejd - 1926

When I check in ebay I was surprised how much does it cost.

Do you have story of this coin. Why his price is so big? Small mintage or something interest story behind?

This coin is rather rare, its mintage is not mentioned in world catalogues. It was minted only one year and so it is so expensive. I think there are a lot of collectors on Far East collecting local coins. All coins of that period are expensive, see for example prices for Oman coins issued before 1960.

I don't expect anything. For me was just interesting the story of the coin. I bought this coin for 0.1 BGN (0.05 Euro) but I don't re-sell my coins. I am new in this and love the coin stories. I just see in e-bay that somebody sell coin like this for 30,40 euro and I just want to understand reason behind.

Thanks a lot. I need to hear so many interest coin stories yet.
